Is oBot free?
Yes. oBot is a free Tampermonkey userscript: activity, automatic login, build queue and interface conveniences cost nothing. Premium unlocks attacks, expeditions, transports, Auto Fleet and Telegram; every new account gets a 3-day trial.
Does oBot work with the current OGame version?
Yes. oBot is kept up to date with OGame 13.x; the version shown on the home page is the latest release. Updates arrive automatically through Tampermonkey, there is nothing to reinstall.
Can I get banned for using an OGame bot?
Using any bot is against the OGame rules, so a ban risk always exists and you use oBot at your own risk. oBot runs in your browser, in your normal game session, with random timings, and only does what you could do by hand. Using it in moderation and alternating it with manual play lowers the risk.
Which browsers are supported?
Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox on desktop, with the Tampermonkey extension. On Chrome you must turn on the extensions developer mode. Mobile browsers are not supported.
Which OGame servers and communities are supported?
All universes of the communities IT, EN, US, ES, AR, MX, FR, DE, PT, BR, DK, BA, CZ, FI, NL, GR, NO, RO, RU, SE, SI, SK and HU. Other communities, such as PL or TR, are not supported at the moment.
Where do I start after installing it?
Open the oBot panel from the left menu and follow the First steps box: apply the recommended preset, open the Research page once and, if you like, link Telegram. The Quick start of the manual explains it all in eight steps.
Configuration
I ticked an option but the bot ignores it. Why? New
Options only apply after you press Change settings at the bottom of the menu. If you close the panel first, the change is lost. The Quick setup of Attacks and Expedition also fills in the form without saving.
What is the difference between the Settings presets and the Quick setup of each menu? New
The Settings presets (Balanced, Farmer, Explorer, Defensive) change several menus at once and save straight away, after the confirmation and with an automatic backup. The Quick setup of Attacks and Expedition only fills in that menu and waits for you to save.
The panel says my research is at 0. New
Open the OGame Research page once: with Automatically save researches on, the bot reads Astrophysics, drives and Hyperspace Technology by itself. Do it again after each completed research.
Only one expedition leaves even though I set more. New
Check Number of expeditions to send in the Expedition menu and that the bot knows your Astrophysics (open the Research page). The bot sends no new expeditions when those already in flight reach the number set or the game slots.
The bot reaches the Fleet page but the expedition (or attack) does not leave. New
This happened up to 9.1.7 with OGame 13.1: the bot entered the coordinates while OGame was still checking the departure planet, the send was refused, but the bot counted it as done. Update oBot to 9.1.9 or later. If OGame still refuses a send, the panel log shows SEND_FAILED with the reason: the bot retries from the next planet and stops after 3 refusals in a row.
How do I go back to my previous configuration? New
In Settings, Create / Restore backup configuration box, press Restore backup with the date you want. Every applied preset creates a backup by itself. Reset configuration instead puts everything back to the initial values.
How do I change the bot language? New
In Settings pick the language in Select the language, press Change settings and reload the page. On first start the bot uses the language of the game server.
I cannot find the Telegram menu in the panel. New
The Telegram menu only appears while premium is active, trial included. If premium has expired the panel says so in red at the top.
I can't see the Anomalies menu. New
It only shows up in universes that have Project Orion, and only with premium active. Build the Interstellar Anomaly Scanner: the bot checks for it once a day, or right away when you open the Facilities page.
Where does lithium come from? New
Only from converting metal, crystal or deuterium on planets that have the Scanner. The Produce lithium option in the Anomalies menu does it for you, with a sustainable conversion that does not drain your stocks.
General
How do I know whether the bot is running?
Hover over the first button of the quick action bar: it says whether the bot is on or paused. With auto-activity on, the tab title shows the countdown to the next refresh.
While the bot is running on one server, can I play on another one at the same time?
Yes. The browser tab where the bot runs must stay active and not minimised, though.
The bot stops when I use another program or switch tab. New
Browsers slow down background tabs and minimised windows. Keep the OGame tab visible, for example in a separate window, and do not minimise it.
What happens if I disable Tampermonkey?
The bot switches off; re-enabling Tampermonkey switches it back on. To be safe, open the overview once it is back on.
If I turn the bot on and off at will, only when I want to send attacks, expeditions or transports, is that a problem or a ban risk?
No — quite the opposite, the risk is lower because you imitate human activity better.
In private browsing, or with the bot off, attack reports are not saved.
Attack reports are only saved with the bot on, in normal browsing and with message reading on.
How do I stop the bot from processing or deleting a specific attack or espionage report?
Mark the report as favourite: the bot ignores it.
Can I use oBot together with AntiGame or OGLight? New
Yes. AntiGame is no longer needed: without it, oBot builds the espionage report table by itself. Errors that start inside other userscripts are not blamed on oBot.
The bot says the downloaded code does not match and does not start. New
The bot compares the fingerprint of the downloaded code with the published one and refuses to run different code. It is usually an interrupted download: reload the page. If the message stays, write to support from the Support menu of the panel.
Attack missions
I set a farming zone and pressed "Find inactive targets". The bot spies, reads the reports, runs one round of attacks and then stops. Why?
That is correct: Find inactive targets runs a single round. For a continuous flow turn on one of the Automatic missions in the Attacks menu: continued or based on fleetsave.
I started the attacks manually and stop the bot when one attack is left. I wait for the ships to come back and turn it on again: what happens?
The bot resumes. With automatic attacks on, it waits until at least a quarter of the attack slots are free before spying and starting again.
What happens if the bot finds more targets than I can attack?
It attacks up to the slots set, removes the targets already attacked and keeps the rest for the next wave. If the remaining reports are older than 1 hour and 30 minutes and Spy again old targets is on, it spies on them again.
Clicking "Optimized attacks" shows "Optimised attack coordinate list empty".
Open the Attacks menu, Lists section, and add at least one coordinate to the Optimised attack coordinate list.
Saving the attacks is refused with a red message. New
The most common causes: Ranking target below 100, Optimised attack list first with an empty list, every galaxy excluded. The message says which one.
The bot does not attack a target that looks undefended. New
If the report does not show fleet and defences because the espionage was not enough, the bot does not attack: it might be defended. With Spy again old targets on, it spies again with more probes.
Telegram
I sent the token but the panel says the account is not connected. New
Send the token without quotes and without spaces, wait for the bot reply on Telegram and the "Chat set up successfully" message on the OGame page, then reload the page.
I was spied on but the bot did not send me a notification. Why?
The notification only leaves if the bot sees the event while it is under way, during a page refresh. If the refresh happens after the probe has landed, the event is gone. More frequent auto-activity leaves fewer gaps.
